Rules


I. Preliminary Rules.

1. XV International Workshop for Young Mathematicians, later in this document referred to as "Workshop", will be held on 8-14 July 2012 in the The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

2. The principal organizer of the Workshop is the Zaremba Association of Mathematicians - Students of the Jagiellonian University. The list of other organizers is available on the website of the Workshop.

3. Applying for participation in the Workshop is tantamount to acceptance of rules contained both in this document and the registration form.

II. Participation in the Workshop.

1. Applications for participation in the Workshop should be submitted through the registration form available on the Workshop's website.

2. To become a participant one is required to:
- submit an application before 30.04.2012,
- have the application approved by the organizers,
- pay the conference fee, accomodation and alimentation fees in the amount specified in the application form before 31.05.2012 (bank account number will be published on the Workshop's website).

3. The Workshop organizers reserve the right to open an additional registration. In this case, appropriate dates will be published on the Workshop's website.

4. The Workshop organizers reserve the right to keep the conference fee if participation is cancelled. It might be possible to specify another person as a substitute. These cases will be considered individually.

5. Each participant has the right to give a lecture on a topic related to the subject of the Workshop (Functional Analysis). In this case one should:
- fill in all related fields in the application form (including "summary" - this field is editable until 31.03.2012),
- have the lecture approved by the organizers (the decisions will be announced before 16.04.2012),
- send the full text of the lecture to the organizers before 31.05.2012. Failure to do so may result in rejection by the organizers.

6. In special cases, one lecture can be prepared and given by two people (please contact the organizers).

7. Participants who submit lectures must be their authors or have the permission to present them during the Workshop. The conditions necessary to have the lecture published in the conference booklet will be given by the organizers during the Workshop.

8. The lectures should be given in English. Any exceptions must be approved by the organizers and approval will only be granted in special cases.

9. Each participant has the right to prepare a poster on a topic related to the subject of the Workshop (Functional Analysis). In this case one should:
- fill in all related fields in the application form (including "poster title"),
- have it approved by the organizers (the decision will be announced before 16.05.2012),
- send the poster image to the organizers before 14.06.2012 (detail will be given in the acceptance confirmation). Failure to do so may result in rejection by the organizers.

10. In special cases, one poster can be prepared and presented by two people (please contact the organizers).

11. Participants who present posters must be their authors or have permission to publish them during the Workshop.

12. The text on posters must be in English.

13. Posters will be presented during the poster session, which has an assigned time in the schedule.

14. The schedule will be published on the website of the Workshop not later than in the first week of June 2012.

15. Each participant can apply for a discount on this part their conference fee that is not covered by their University. Participants who give lectures will receive discounts of at least 300 PLN, and poster authors of at least 150 PLN (the amount will be shared evenly if there are multiple authors). If the discount is greater than the participant's part of the fee, the participant is exempt from paying.

16. Discounts will be granted by a Scholarship Committee which will have a certain amount at its disposal. The Committee is going to consider, among others: if the lecture or poster is going to be presented during the Workshop, reference of a scientific employee, financial situation of the participant, the order of applications.

17. The conference fee consists of:
a) the basic obligatory fee - 100 PLN,
b) optionally:
- 35 PLN for one day of accomodation (210 PLN for 6 days) or 50 PLN for one day of accomodation in a separate room,
- 9 PLN for breakfast (54 PLN for 6 breakfasts)
- 16 PLN for lunch (80 PLN for 5 lunches).

18. Every participant will receive an invoice according to the data filled in the application form. It is possible to request a group invoice for a number of participants - in this case please inform the organizers before transferring the fee.

III. During the Workshop.

1. Workshop participants are entitled to participate in all lectures and accompanying events (such as evening meetings and trips around Kraków).

2. Organizers are not responsible for any lost, destroyed or stolen property of the participants.

3. Participants are subject to financial liability for conducting any destructive actions. Participants are required to comply with the regulations of objects that will be the venue of the Workshop.

IV. Final Remarks.

1. Please report any problems with the registration form, payments or receiving information about the Workshop. The organizers reserve the right to change the deadlines stated in this document.

2. If any other changes are made to these rules, all participants will be notified immediately and will be given the opportunity to cancel participation within seven days with full refund.
