With the second week of September ended the 17th International Workshop for Young Mathematicians. This year we gathered in Kraków around Descrete Mathematics. There were 72 participants including three invited speakers from abroad and three staff members of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Jagiellonian University who created the scientific commitee of our conference.

Officially, the Workshop started on Monday, September 8th with a short welcome speech given by Justyna Ferenc, the President of the Zaremba Association of Mathematicians-Students of Jagiellonian University. Right after the greeting the scientific part of the conference has begun.

This year there were three two-hour lectures given by our honorable guests:
-Jean-Paul Allouche, Sequences Generated by Finite Automata
-János Barát, Edge-Decomposition of Graphs
-Daniel Kráľ, Combinatorial Limits.

We also had the oportunity to listen to the lectures given by the members of the scientific commitee:
-Bartłomiej Bosek, Harmonious Coloring of Hypergraphs
-Jarosław Grytczuk, Ramsey Theory on the Integers
-Maciej Ulas, Thue-Morse Sequence, Identities and Partition Functions.

Of course, we could not have had our Workshop without the student lectures. This year we listened to twelve of them:

We also organized a poster session which took place on Thursday, September 11th. There were 9 posters presented:

-Martha Łącka, Mateusz Łącki, The Grim Game and the Sprague-Grundy Theorem
-Marzena Kwiatkowska, Anita Mazur, Theory of games of two members – examples.

Apart from the scientific part we organized a number of cultural and social events. Our fun started on Sunday with the first Integration Evening that took place in Żaczek Student Club. All the participants could get acquainted with each other before starting the big adventure with mathematics.

On Monday many participants decided to stay on Campus after the lectures had ended to play some board games. The evening lasted almost till midnight and naturally we ordered pizza for everyone.

Tuesday evening passed under the sign of club games. That day we spent a few hours in Plaza City Center meeting closer cue and bowling ball.

On Wednesday we organized traditional sightseeing trip. This time we visited Nowa Huta District where the participants climbed onto a real tank and took the group photo next to the Lord's Ark (church in Nowa Huta designed as Noah's Ark). In the evening we were singing in the Coyote Club. Everyone who took part in karaoke evening will probably agree with me that we had a lot of fun.

On Thursday we had an opportunity to try something different. In two groups we played Laser Tag game. When we finished we were all exhausted but laughing all the way.

Friday started with a first Jagiellonian Univerity Campus Tour ever. We even decided to visit Zakrzówek (old stone-pit, now flooded). In the evening we made a farewell party.

On Saturday the President of the Zaremba Association officially closed the Workshop. The best lecture and best poster contest were concluded.

At the end a small lottery was organized. The winners were given small gadgets connected with our Association. Later we exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses and parted with a promise to meet at the next conference.

To sum up we would like to thank our honorable guests, members of scientific commitee, lecturers, poster authors and all the participants without whom we wouldn't be able to make the Workshop.
